To be a successful parent it is essential to get into a routine with your child, this way they easily understand where they stand and what they can get away with, and you must start this routine as early as passable, 6 to 8 weeks is a good time. You child will be much happier knowing what comes next in their day. Even when you have to stay at a strange house perhaps visiting friends or relatives you must keep to your routine, feeding time, bath time and bedtime

Bedtime can be a problem for parents so perhaps you can make bath time shortly before bedtime the warm water helps to make them sleepy and calm them down. Play a quite game, as you help them into their pajamas play with there favorite toy. Choose activities that calm them and not excite them, there is no point trying to put an excited baby to sleep. On the way to bed don't forget to say night night to any objects you pass on the way, make a fuss of their favorite teddy, get them settled into bed and read a STORY. i have always read my daughter a bedtime story and I know how much she looks forward to that story, even though she can read it herself she is 8years old now. that chapter i read to her is like a sleeping pill to her.

A bedtime story every night when you put your child to bed is probably the top most gift you can give to your child, apart from you making the child very happy as they drop of to sleep, you are teaching them the first steps to reading, they follow the words, they begin to recognize the words as they follow the story with you, and as they get older their interest grow in story books and they soon start to look and read books by them self’s Reading is the foundational skill to an education and learning abilities. Reading and writing abilities will continue to develop all through life, but studies have proved that from birth to eight years old is the most important years for literacy development. My very First Mother Goose

Iona Opie

The origins of most Nursery rhymes relate to events in our distant past and they have been handed down from parent to children, generation to generation, for hundreds of years. Mother Goose however is a relatively new phenomenon, but when we are asked to recall our childhood memories, most of us will remember the fabulous tales of Mother Goose. Several examples relate to rudimentary counting skills. Some relate to the alphabet, all help in the development of a child’s vocabulary, and early literacy. If "an apple a day will keep the doctor away", then perhaps a-rhyme a day, will keep school failure at bay.

In My Very First Mother goose, Iona Opie has put together a very good collection of nursery rhymes, all the favorites and many more, an ideal bed time story book for little Children. There are over 60 rhymes, very well laid out, all with lovely illustrations, done in water colour by Rosemary Wells. My First Mother Goose has received many awards as best children’s book, including The New York Times, Winner of Parents Choice Awards, A School Library Journal, And many more, at www.amazon.com it has a five star rating An excellent collection of rhymes to add to a child’s first books

  Peter Pan in ScarletPeterPan

In August 2004, the Special Trustees of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital launched the search for a sequel to JM Barrie's timeless masterpiece, Peter Pan. The Special Trustees own the copyright and other intellectual property rights to Peter Pan, and to mark the work's centenary, they authorized the creation of a new work that would share the same enchanting characters as the original, and bring as much pleasure to children and adults universally as
Peter Pan has done.

Fighting off fierce competition from over 100 other writers, Geraldine McCaughrean has been commissioned to write this official sequel. In her entry, the judges found something that captured the elusive spirit of the original whilst offering a fresh and astounding creative response. Like Barrie's story, it will appeal to readers the world over.
